Exploring Maydencroft Manor - A Beautiful New Wedding Venue Near Hitchin, Hertfordshire
In November, I was invited to visit Maydencroft Manor, a stunning new wedding venue just outside Hitchin in Hertfordshire. It’s a charming mix of countryside elegance and rustic character - complete with a historic manor house, the beautiful Bunyan Barn, and peaceful gardens to explore. There’s even a small moat with a rowing boat and adjoining stables that double as a bar for your wedding party.
This is a complete dry hire venue, giving couples the freedom to design a day that truly reflects their style, vision, and personality.
The Heart Behind Maydencroft Manor
During my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Tom and Augusta, the owners and the warm faces behind the venue. They actually got married at Maydencroft Manor themselves a few years ago, so every detail comes from experience and genuine love for weddings.
On a rainy Monday morning, they shared their story, the family history of the farm, and their passion for creating something truly special for future couples.
Helping Shape a New Wedding Venue
This visit wasn’t just a tour though, it was a chance for wedding industry professionals like myself to share insight and advice. Tom and Augusta wanted to learn from suppliers who live and breathe weddings week in, week out. To ensure Maydencroft Manor runs smoothly and delivers the best experience possible for couples.
It’s always refreshing to see venue owners who genuinely listen and collaborate with their supplier network. That kind of openness makes a huge difference when it comes to planning unforgettable weddings.
A Venue with Heart and Purpose
Another thing that really stood out to me is Maydencroft Manor’s commitment to sustainability, conservation grazing, and rewilding. These values are at the core of their ethos and it’s something I’m personally very passionate about too. It’s inspiring to see a wedding venue that not only creates beautiful celebrations but also gives back to the land it’s built on. Tom explained how the way in which they’re set up personally within the house, they are almost entirely living “off-grid” - I love that.
Why I’m Excited About Maydencroft Manor Weddings
Maydencroft Manor is more than just a new Hertfordshire wedding venue. It’s a place with soul, history, and heart. From its flexible dry-hire setup to its beautiful surroundings and environmentally conscious approach, it’s the perfect blank canvas for creative couples who want a wedding that’s truly their own.
