Hi, I’m Dave, a UK wedding filmmaker who carries a keen eye for film and a passion for storytelling.

I’m a “northerner” living in Hitchin, with my girlfriend Nikki and our son Ren. I love my family and capture anything and everything I can of them during all of our little adventures - Nikki spends about 1 hour a day on Coolstays and Canopy & Stars, no exaggeration. If we’re not on adventure we’re in the ‘Gym Park’ as Ren calls it, or the normal park watching the planes and having fun.

Originally from Leicester, I have called Hitchin my home for 10 years now but despite this you’ll still get the odd “northern” word come out of my mouth. I like beer, burgers and adventure films, frequently consumed together on the sofa.

One of my earliest memories of being truly mind blown by the power of cinematography was watching a snowboarding film called Into the Mind. The intentional use of visuals, editing and soundtrack really inspired me and showed me how when they align, you can truly make magic happen.

A sucker for a Thriller documentary, or indie film I have no shame in crying watching a movie. My 2025 goal is to visit the cinema more (it’s been hard with a toddler), and so far it’s been late night solo dates at the Arthouse Broadway Cinema in Letchworth where I’m typically one of a handful in (chef’s kiss).

I consider myself to be a very personable, attentive and adaptable person.

My wedding films capture your wedding day as it unfolds, in a natural style that reflects you, your family and friends. Hoping I can bring out your character into a film that defines your relationship and personalities using both visuals and a well throughout soundtrack. I am very relaxed, chilled and bring absolutely no pressure when it comes to filming your day and all the details of it.

How I approach wedding filmmaking

When it comes to wedding films, I draw parallels to why I love cinema - for its escapism. Wedding films should be a time capsule that takes you back to the day for years to come.

I approach capturing a wedding in an authentic way, watching and listening to what’s going on in front of me. Filming in the discreetest way possible, not trying to get in the way of real moments. I carry basic equipment, use only natural lighting and offer no form of direction. It’ll be your day as it happens.

I wouldn’t say I have a particular style, I don’t follow trends or try to replicate specific shots, there is no cookie cutter for my films. I truly believe that each film should be unique just like the couples within them.

We all have our own journey in life and are shaped by so many factors, whether that be positive or negative impressions, and I love to lean into these were possible when crafting your story.

I’ve been filming weddings for over 5 years now and I am still as nervous and excited on the morning of each wedding than when I first started. I realise and appreciate the trust that each and every one of my couples puts in me.

Couples that have worked with me in the past say their films felt real and I’ve managed to capture the true essence of the day.

I pride myself on working calmly and bringing a chill nature to the day so things run smoothly.

Your wedding film will be crafted with care by someone who understands its importance.

“He goes about his work in such an unassuming way that you don't even realise he is there and the end product we received in terms of our wedding film is something that we love and will treasure for the rest of our lives.”

“Dave absolutely nailed it…”
